ANALYSIS OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN DEMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS AND EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE IN FEMALE STUDENT

Abstract

This study analyzes emotional intelligence and the relationship between emotional intelligence and the demographic characteristics such as age, household income and their educational levels of female student of Islamic Azad University of Tabriz (Iran). This research is survey in terms of methodology, analytical in the type and applied in the perspective target. Statistical population of this study is female students of Islamic Azad University of Tabriz (Iran). Sample size is 400 people and simply random selected. Data collected by interviews, observation and questionnaires which developed by the researchers themself. Content validity of the questionnaire has been approved. The reliability of the questionnaire is obtained 0.89 by Cronbach's alpha test. In this study, statistical test, correlation and dependence, Levin test, ANOVA for comparing two societies is used. The results of this study demonstrated that there is no relation between age with emotional intelligence and between education levels with emotional intelligence, but there is relationship
between household income and emotional intelligence in female students. Claim which mean of emotional intelligence in female students in 20 up to 22 is not equal with female students in upper level of 22 up to 24 years old is accepted. And, claim which mean of emotional intelligence of female students in 24 up to 26 with students in girls 26 years and above.
