As we navigate the uncharted territories of the digital age, it has become increasingly evident that HRM functions must undergo a radical transformation to remain relevant and effective. This study delves into the transformative impact of digitalization on HRM, exploring the complex interplay between technological advancements, organizational culture, and the future of work. By examining the intersection of digitalization, HRM, and organizational performance, this research reveals the profound implications of digitalization on the HRM function, including the emergence of new roles, the redefinition of traditional HRM practices, and the escalating importance of digital literacy and data-driven decision-making. The study used secondary sources of data collection such as text books, journals, government documents, the internet, etc. This paper found among others that digitalization has transformed HRM functions, enabling organizations to automate routine tasks, improve communication, and enhance employee engagement. The study also recommends among others that organizations should provide continuous training and development opportunities for employees to ensure that they have the necessary skills and competencies to work effectively in a digital environment. Specifically, this statistic indicates that a remarkable 88.3% of the variations observed in the quality of work among the staff can be attributed to differences in their training experiences. The findings from the hypothesis two revealed a statistically significant positive correlation between technical skills and effective time management among the staff at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University. Based on the findings, this study strongly advocate for employees at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University to proactively engage in a diverse array of training initiatives specifically designed to foster self-improvement and further their pursuit of academic excellence.
Onuigbo Ifeanyi Ositadimma, Chukwujekwu Jeffery Obiezekwem, Uchenna Joy Soba, Felix Chibueze Njoagwu Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://j.arabianjbmr.com/index.php/kcajbmr/article/view/1298 Mon, 01 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Human capital factors that enhance sustainable strategic management practices for organizational resilience: A case of urban councils in Zimbabwe https://j.arabianjbmr.com/index.php/kcajbmr/article/view/1299
The continued service delivery challenges being experienced by local authorities, mainly in developing countries, is a cause for concern. This indicates a lack of or failure to adopt sustainable strategic management practices which are viewed as strategies for enhancing organizational resilience. This paper, therefore, explored the influence of human capital factors on the practice of sustainable strategic management necessary for organizational resilience focusing on urban councils in Zimbabwe. The study used the descriptive survey of the quantitative research approach. The population of the study involved all the 2931 managers and professional employees in the 32 urban councils in Zimbabwe. A sample of 344 employees was drawn from the population using Krejcie and Morgan sampling determination table. A Questionnaire was used in data collection and was subjected to Cronbach’s Alpha test for reliability while the Kaiser Meyer Olkin (KMO) was used for measuring sampling adequacy. Employee competencies and motivation were found to be low while employee commitment was found to be moderate in urban councils of Zimbabwe. So, the weak organizational resilience of the majority of Zimbabwean urban councils as evidenced by poor performance in terms of service delivery, can be attributed to poor sustainable strategic management practices being caused by lack of consideration of human capital factors. In order to improve organizational resilience, urban councils in Zimbabwe are recommended to adopt effective sustainable strategic management practices through enhanced employee competencies, motivation and commitment. However, a further study is recommended on other factors affecting sustainable strategic management practices with a different methodology focusing on organizations in the private sector.
Edward Chinongwa Copyright (c) 2025 https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://j.arabianjbmr.com/index.php/kcajbmr/article/view/1299 Mon, 01 Sep 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Facebook usage as a political mobilization tool among youth in Saki https://j.arabianjbmr.com/index.php/kcajbmr/article/view/1300
Facebook and other social media platforms have become effective political mobilisation tools, especially among younger people worldwide, including in Nigeria.
