Join the Editorial Board

The Nigerian Journal of Social Development (NGJSD) invites qualified researchers and professionals to join our Editorial Board. As NGJSD continues to grow and strengthen its scholarly presence, we are expanding our Board to ensure rigorous peer review, greater disciplinary representation, and higher editorial standards.

NGJSD is a fully open access, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing high-quality research across accounting, auditing, taxation, financial reporting, corporate governance, sustainability reporting, fintech, and related interdisciplinary domains. We welcome theoretical, empirical, experimental, and applied research that contributes meaningfully to the accounting discipline.

Who Are We Looking For?

We seek active, independent scholars with a strong research background in any field related to NGJSD’s scope, including but not limited to:

  • Ideologies, values and ethics of social work
  • Approaches, methods, techniques and skills of social work
  • Governance, welfare and social development
  • Administration of voluntary/non-profit organizations
  • Societal systems and social work intervention
  • Social service sectors and social work intervention
  • Social work intervention for marginalized groups
  • Social work intervention in social conflict and emergency situations
  • Fieldwork practicum

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Hold a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in accounting or a closely related field.
  • Be an active researcher with a sustained publication record (Scopus/WoS preferred).
  • Have experience as a reviewer or editor for scholarly journals OR possess demonstrated expertise in academic research.
  • Demonstrate adherence to ethical research and publishing practices (COPE compliance).

Exceptional early-career researchers with strong publication momentum are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities of Editorial Board Members

Editorial Board Members play a crucial role in maintaining the quality, transparency, and integrity of the review process. Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting initial assessment of assigned manuscripts.
  • Selecting and recommending qualified peer reviewers.
  • Making editorial recommendations based on reviewer reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with NGJSD’s editorial, ethical, and reporting standards.
  • Promoting NGJSD within your academic and professional networks.
  • Contributing insights on emerging research areas to support strategic editorial development.

Expected workload: Handling 4–6 manuscripts per year depending on your expertise and availability.
