Archiving Policy
The Nigerian Journal of Social Development (NGJSD) is committed to long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content. As an open-access "green" journal, NGJSD allows authors to self-archive their accepted and published papers in personal, institutional, and subject-based repositories without restrictions.
- Self-Archiving Policy
- Authors retain full copyright over their work and may deposit:
- Preprints (Before Peer Review) – Authors may share preprints in repositories before submission to NGJSD.
- Postprints (Author’s Accepted Manuscript - AAM) – Authors may deposit the peer-reviewed, accepted version immediately upon acceptance in institutional or public repositories.
- Published Version (Version of Record - VoR) – The final published PDF may be freely shared immediately after publication on repositories, libraries, and personal websites.
- Attribution & Citation Requirements
- Authors depositing their work in any repository must provide the following information:
- Full citation details (Author, Title, Journal Name, DOI, Year).
- A direct link to the published version on the IJAR website.
- Acknowledgement that "This article was originally published in the Nigerian Journal of Social Development (NGJSD) and is licensed under CC BY 4.0."

To ensure permanent availability of scholarly content, Nigerian Journal of Social Development (NGJSD) partners with leading digital preservation services:
- PKP Preservation Network (PN) – Metadata submission to ensure integration with open-access repositories.
The journal’s metadata is fully compliant with major repository services to enable seamless indexing and archiving by digital crawlers.
