Archiving Policy

The International Journal of Accounting Research (IJAR) is committed to long-term preservation and accessibility of its published content. As an open-access "green" journal, IJAR allows authors to self-archive their accepted and published papers in personal, institutional, and subject-based repositories without restrictions.

1. Self-Archiving Policy

  • Authors retain full copyright over their work and may deposit:
    • Preprints (Before Peer Review) – Authors may share preprints in repositories before submission to IJAR.
    • Postprints (Author’s Accepted Manuscript - AAM) – Authors may deposit the peer-reviewed, accepted version immediately upon acceptance in institutional or public repositories.
    • Published Version (Version of Record - VoR) – The final published PDF may be freely shared immediately after publication on repositories, libraries, and personal websites.

2. Attribution & Citation Requirements

  • Authors depositing their work in any repository must provide the following information:
    • Full citation details (Author, Title, Journal Name, DOI, Year).
    • A direct link to the published version on the IJAR website.
    • Acknowledgement that "This article was originally published in the International Journal of Accounting Research (IJAR) and is licensed under CC BY 4.0."

Digital Archiving & Preservation

To ensure the long-term preservation and permanent accessibility of its scholarly content, IJAR participates in the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN). This service provides distributed archiving and safeguards against digital loss, ensuring that all published articles remain available for future scholars.

The journal’s metadata is fully compliant with major repository services to enable seamless indexing and archiving by digital crawlers.

IJAR is also committed to expanding its digital preservation partnerships with additional services such as Portico, LOCKSS, and CLOCKSS in the near future.
