Repository Policy

The International Journal of Accounting Research (IJAR) is a fully Open Access journal, committed to the broad dissemination and permanent availability of scholarly research.

Self-Archiving & Institutional Repositories

  • Authors are encouraged to deposit their final published articles in institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, personal websites, and academic social networks (e.g., ResearchGate, Academia.edu, Google Scholar) to enhance research visibility.

  • Articles published in IJAR are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) License, allowing unrestricted sharing and reuse with proper attribution.

  • When depositing their work, authors must always provide full citation details and a link to the journal’s official webpage (IJAR website).

Preprint & Postprint (Author’s Accepted Manuscript - AAM) Policy

  • Preprints: IJAR does not accept manuscripts that are already publicly posted as preprints. Authors should not share pre-submission versions before or during the peer-review process.

  • Postprints (AAMs): Authors may archive the accepted version (after peer review, before typesetting) immediately after acceptance, provided it clearly indicates that the article has been accepted for publication in IJAR.

  • Final Published Version (Version of Record - VoR): Authors are permitted and encouraged to archive the final PDF of their published article without embargo immediately after publication.

Attribution & Citation

Any version deposited or shared must include:

  • A full citation to the original publication in IJAR.

  • A link to the final published version on the IJAR website.

  • The statement: “This article was originally published in the International Journal of Accounting Research (IJAR) and is licensed under CC BY 4.0.”

Encouraging Citations & Research Visibility

  • To maximise research visibility and impact, authors are encouraged to share their published articles through institutional repositories, academic networking platforms (e.g., ResearchGate, Google Scholar), and personal websites.

  • While IJAR does not currently require ORCID IDs, authors are encouraged to use ORCID and other researcher identifiers to enhance the discoverability of their work.
