Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between workplace digitalisation and operational effectiveness in private healthcare institutions in Bayelsa State, Nigeria. The specific objectives include determining the relationship between hardware and operational effectiveness, and the relationship between software and operational effectiveness. A descriptive survey research design was adopted, with a study population of forty-eight managerial employees from selected private healthcare institutions in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire, and the reliability of the instrument was confirmed with a Cronbach’s alpha value of 0.83. Descriptive and inferential analyses were performed using Pearson Product-Moment Correlation with SPSS version 25. The results revealed a strong and statistically significant positive correlation between the use of digital hardware and software and the operational effectiveness of the institutions. The study concluded that workplace digitalisation significantly enhances workflow efficiency, decision-making, service delivery, and overall institutional performance. The findings emphasize the importance of continuous investment in digital technologies to maintain and improve operational effectiveness in private healthcare institutions.
